.October 19: Suicidal Tendencies at Phoenix Theater

Amid nostalgic nattering by old-schoolers about the band’s legendary 1986 show with Faith No More and Victims Family at the Kenilworth Recreation Center in Petaluma, the long-running punk outfit Suicidal Tendencies returns to town, this time just up the street at, of course, the Phoenix Theater. Reports from last year’s local tour stop by the Venice Beach skate punks were surprisingly positive, and for a band that has never officially broken up, they’re in better form than most ’90s bands currently riding the reunion train. (Exception: Pavement). Suicidal’s lead singer Mike Muir may be 47 years old now, but onstage, he still embodies suburban juvenilia with timeless songs about death, love, politics and yes, Pepsi. Get possessed on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at the Phoenix Theater. 201 E. Washington St., Petaluma. 8pm. $25. 707.762.3565.
