Famous duos, both real and imagined, abound throughout Western cultural history. Abbott and Costello. Romeo and Juliet. Hall and Oates. Tristan and Isolde. Rodgers and Hammerstein. Kid ‘n Play. Bonnie and Clyde. Kirk and Spock. Antony and Cleopatra. Gilbert and Sullivan. Lewis and Clark. Siskel and Ebert. Sonny and Cher. But none have sold themselves as polar opposites who meet somewhere in the middle as much as Washington, D.C., political operatives James Carville and Mary Matalin. It was big news when the two married, what with him being a Clinton adviser and raging Democrat, and her being an adviser to the Bush administration. Yet somehow, they’ve made it work, and lived to write a book about the whole deal, All’s Fair: Love, War, and Running for President. Carville and Matalin joust about on Monday, Oct. 15, at the Wells Fargo Center of the Arts. 50 Mark West Springs Road, Santa Rosa. 8pm. $65—$100. 707.546.3600.
