For anyone who spent even two seconds in a high school drama class, the word “improv” conjures cringe-inducing memories of awkward theater games performed by even more awkward drama geeks. But the World’s Biggest Comedy Duo actually do improv the way it should be, turning the potentially embarrassing into something slightly subversive and fun. The Comedy Overload event at Hopmonk also features Opposing Media doing a Mystery Science Theater 3000—style take on a Star Trek episode, local standup comedians and, most incongruously, a performance by the Joweh BellyDance troupe.
