Feb. 22: Willie Brown at SRJC

You think you’ve accomplished a lot in your life? Former San Francisco mayor Willie Brown has done it all: law school, journalism, radio, podcasting, written his autobiography, been named the best-dressed man in San Francisco, appeared in Disney films—you name it, he’s probably already beaten you to it. (I liked when he was in George of the Jungle, personally.) Unlike other big-city mayors, Brown knows how to make complicated and frustrating topics bearable, and even enjoyable. (Hmm, now I think I prefer The Princess Diaries, when he jokes about the rain. Remember?) This Texas-native, proud San Francisco convert has an answer to everything, and a genuine personality that’s worth seeing and listening to in real life. (All right, I’m going to go prepare myself for this and watch The Hulk.) Break out your cigars for his lecture on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the Santa Rosa Junior College Student Activities Center. 1501 Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa. 4pm. Free. 707.527.4647.
