The everything-grandma-likes-we-like-too swing revival of 10 years ago always did benefit greatly from cross-generational appeal, which makes the uptempo retro swing of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy the perfect Christmas serenade. For a time, it seemed like BBVD’s job was to quell the pre-millennial tension of 1999, riding high on a wave that began with “You and Me and the Bottle Makes Three Tonight” from the cult movie Swingers and culminating in a Superbowl halftime show. Don’t say that their current Christmas tour is a sad decline, though; the band actually self-released a Christmas album ages ago, before being signed to Capitol Records. It’s in their blood with songs like “’Zat You, Santa Claus?” and it’s all onstage for the family to enjoy on Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the Wells Fargo Center. 50 Mark West Springs Road, Santa Rosa. 8pm. $37–$47. 707.546.3600.
