The Bohemian’s annual ode to the Best
Once more unto the ballots, dear readers. It’s that time of year when we pause our regularly scheduled existential fretting and turn our attention to something vastly more civic minded: the Best of the North Bay.
In a world that apparently has an endless appetite for chaos, this remains one of our favorite rituals—an annual census of excellence conducted not by algorithms, but by actual humans.
And in proper North Bay fashion, we celebrate with a blend of earnest pride and gentle self-mockery. Because if we can’t lovingly tease our kombucha-sipping, pinot-swilling selves, then we risk taking it all far too seriously. And nobody wants that. Especially Marin, who thinks we stole its mojo. JK. Mostly.
Inside these pages lies your curated compass: the standout experiences that remind that we’re not just a high-end tourist destination but a community bemused by all the fuss.
Think of it as a living archive of what we value right now—proof that taste, in all its forms, still matters. But the real story isn’t what won. It’s who voted. You did. You rallied for your favorite bartender, your trusted mechanic, your beloved bookstore. You cast ballots not just for businesses, but for the people who show up every day and give this region its distinct quality of life. We simply tallied the votes, applied a bit of editorial spit-shine.
Gratitude, as always, goes to our contributors; editorial, design and sales teams; and the production wizards who transform your raw enthusiasm into this massive sheaf of awesomeness. And also, of course, to the local businesses who keep the lights on for us.
So raise a glass, a fork, an eyebrow—to the Best of the North Bay. The world may be in flux, but here, our collective spirit remains delightfully and defiantly whole.
