The chance for an up-and-coming singer to perform with a renowned soprano like Ruth Ann Swenson is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Swenson’s career, particularly at the Met in New York, has afforded her critical and public accolades around the world. But this week, the public is invited as six local singers are granted a chance to sing and learn through a master class led by one of the leading operatic artists of our day. Part performance, part lecture, Swenson’s master class comes together on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Sonoma State University’s Warren Auditorium. 1801 E. Cotati Ave., Rohnert Park. 1pm. $10-$20. 707.664.2057.
