.Feb. 18: Benefit Hike at Sugarloaf State Park

sugarloaf.jpg

Whether we’re active hiking-and-biking nature lovers or not, North Bay residents generally know that we’re spoiled rotten with unbelievable scenic beauty. Unfortunately, due to staff reductions and budget cuts (are you even phased by hearing those words anymore, California?) our lovely little Sugarloaf Ridge State Park is currently closed. Known for its 25 miles of trails for hiking and horseback riding, Sugarloaf is nature at its finest, complete with deer, foxes, wildflowers and, on clear days, a view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Dave Chalk and Bill Myers have taken it in their own hands to try and do something about its closure. Join them for a hike of the closed park in exchange for a donation benefiting reopening efforts on Saturday, Feb. 18, at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. 2605 Adobe Canyon Road, Kenwood. 10am. $25. 707.833.5712.
