In Timothy Horn’s oil painting Wires, a yellow Victorian house sits stately in the late afternoon; the juxtaposition of its timelessness and an SUV parked in front give it a quality that earned the Artists’ Choice Award for the Napa Valley Art Festival. A juried exhibit and sale featuring work from 27 local artists, the free outdoor festival features two artists’ demonstrations and plenty of wine. All the works are new, completed in the past year; head to the festival on Saturday, Aug. 20. 6516 Washington St., Yountville. Free. 10am–4pm. 707.256.3828.
