From ’60s San Francisco drummer to Americana icon, musician Dan Hicks continually carves out varied and versatile tunes. As the frontman of Dan Hicks & the Hot Licks, the songwriter has kept his signature sound relevant through 40 years of genre-bending recordings and world tours. Recently, Hicks, who grew up in Santa Rosa and now lives in Mill Valley, underwent treatment for throat cancer.
