Even today, a visit to Guerneville usually results in something you don’t see every day.
But here’s something you really don’t see every day—an enormous federal rescue helicopter landing in the middle of the street.A loose caption says something about this helicopter landing on Main Street, but knowing that Main Street was completely submerged, we’re not quite sure that could be true.Does anyone recognize where this might have been in 1986? Or does anyone recognize themselves in the foreground, crouching away from the gusts?Let us know in the comments below. The Guerneville Flood Project is a week-long dive into the photo archives of the North Bay Bohemian.
