The annual Sausalito Art Festival always reliably promises plenty of quality art, great food and fine outdoor seaside mingling, but it’s this year’s music lineup that’s worth a double-take. Three of the great retro decades are covered, as Saturday’s performers form a veritable ’80s invasion with the Bangles, the Fixx and Modern English; Sunday it’s the ’70s with Pablo Cruise, the Tubes and Dave Mason; and Monday digs back into the ’60s with Sons of Champlin, Jefferson Starship and the great Mavis Staples. (The ’90s stage with Mother Love Bone, Dishwalla and Gin Blossoms may have to wait a few years.) With local acts on the side stage and hundreds of artist booths along Richardson Bay, it’s an event everyone should attend at least once. Grab an ice cream cone and pick your decade on Saturday–Monday, Sept. 4–6, at Marinship Park. Marinship Way, Sausalito. 10am–6pm. $5–$20. 415.331.3757.
