Bursting with color, the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival helps welcome the changing colors and temperatures of the fall. Beginning modestly in 1956 with downtown shops featuring local art in their windows, the event, now held in Old Mill Park, draws over 8,000 people. The festival also provides entertainment and interactive activities for young art enthusiasts, and this year’s event features folk, reggae and jazz acts to round out the experience on Saturday–Sunday, Sept. 24–25, at Old Mill Park. 320 Throckmorton Ave., Mill Valley. 10am–6pm. $5–$10. 415.
