June 4: Dierks Bentley at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds – POSTPONED TO AUGUST 21

Time was that Dierks Bentley sang polished radio hits and starred in slick videos , playing the usual Nashville game. But like many before him, Bentley broke away to record a confident bluegrass album, Up on the Ridge, last year. Featuring covers of Bob Dylan (“Señor (Tales of Yankee Power)”) and U2 (“Pride (In the Name of Love)”), the record calls in help from Americana stars Del McCoury and Alison Krauss. Bentley brings this no-nonsense sound to the Sonoma Country Music BBQ, featuring television star Kellie Pickler and Joe “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off” Nichols, on Saturday, June 4, at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. 1350 Bennett Valley Road, Santa Rosa. 4pm. $45–$55. www.sonomacountrymusicbbq.com. Note: Due to rain, this event has been postponed to August 21. More details here.
