Enigmatic singer and songwriter Christopher Owens made a name for himself when he debuted his San Francisco indie group Girls in 2009. Owens gained national attention for his sunny pop hooks and raw emotional core. Though Girls is no more, Owens is busier than ever, releasing a similar style of music under his own name since 2013. His third solo album, 2015’s Chrissybaby Forever, is right up there with his best, giving throwback genre elements like ’60s surf and ’50s rock a postmodern bent.
