For some reason, there sure are a whole lot of people offering junk removal services these days. A good guess as to why would be that housing prices are still so high that if you buy one, you simply will not have space for all your stuff which, let’s be honest, is probably mostly junk. See also: the proliferation of storage units. But one guy is doing his best to stand out above the rest in terms of getting rid of your crap. His name is Paul Italia, owner and president of Fuhgeddaboutit Junk Removal. Insert Italian hand gesture emoji here.
This company is barely a year old. And if you call, you get to speak with Italia himself. It’s everything you might hope, as he answers the phone with a saucy, “Fuhgeddaboutit,” complete with a thick New York accent and a gentle demeanor that belies his imposing physique.
The former fitness model and pro arm wrestler says this background gave him the edge on his marketing skills. You can see evidence of this on billboards throughout Sonoma County, including on the 101, as well as on his hats, shirts and stickers featuring Italia as a buffed cartoon character.
That’s all well and good, but what makes Fuhgeddaboutit different from the other junk removal places? Italia says, “It’s our core values. We do our best to keep things out of the landfill. We work with a bunch of local charities, nonprofits, churches and try to donate as much as we can and give back to the community.”
