As you probably know by now, the U.S. Department of Justice and the FBI have been sniffing around the Napa Valley for the better part of the last year, apparently looking into county government officials and their connections to wine-industry power players and ag interest groups. The feds’ hypothesis — what they think might be going on — has remained a mystery. But given the magnitude of the probe, they seem pretty sure of it, whatever it is. And now, one of the main subjects of their investigation — the beleaguered, decades-old Clover Flat Landfill near Calistoga — is getting some pretty major international press. The Guardian newspaper in the U.K. just published a piece called “Napa Valley has lush vineyards and wineries — and a pollution problem.” The reporting was funded by the Environmental Working Group organization, famous for publishing a regular list of chemicals to avoid in food called “The Dirty Dozen.” Here’s an excerpt from the new Guardian piece: “Two streams run adjacent to the landfill as tributaries to the Napa River. A growing body of evidence, including regulatory inspection reports and emails between regulators and [Clover Flat Landfill] owners, suggests the landfill and a related garbage-collection business have routinely polluted those local waterways that drain into the Napa River with an assortment of dangerous toxins. The river irrigates the valley’s beloved vineyards and is used recreationally for kayaking by more than 10,000 people annually. The prospect that the water and wine flowing from the region may be at risk of contamination with hazardous chemicals and heavy metals has driven a wedge between those speaking out about the concerns and others who want the issue kept out of the spotlight, according to [Geoff Ellsworth], a former employee of CFL. ‘The Napa valley is amongst the most high-value agricultural land in the country,’ he said. ‘If there’s a contamination issue, the economic ripples are significant.'” Ellsworth, the guy quoted in the story, used to be the mayor of St. Helena, and is now part of a core group of environmental and political activists in the Napa Valley who believe major corruption has been festering for years — embodied quite viscerally by the oozing chemicals at the Clover Flat dump. The group has created an impressively hi-fi documentary series called “Garbage & Greed: Trashed in Napa Valley,” which you can watch here. It’s cool to see their tireless crusade now paying off in the form of pressure from all the way across the pond. More from the Guardian story: “Both the landfill and Upper Valley Disposal Services (UVDS) were owned for decades by the wealthy and politically well-connected Pestoni family, whose vineyards were first planted in the Napa valley area in 1892. The Pestoni Family Estate Winery still sells bottles and an assortment of wines, including an etched cabernet sauvignon magnum for $400 a bottle. The family sold the landfill and disposal-services unit last year amid a barrage of complaints, handing the business off to Waste Connections, a large, national waste-management company headquartered in Texas. Before the sale, Christina Pestoni… served as chief operating officer for UVDS and CFL, said in a statement that the company’s operations met ‘the highest environmental standards’ and were in full legal and regulatory compliance. Pestoni is currently director of government affairs at Waste Connections. In her statement, she accused Ellsworth and ‘a few individuals’ of spreading ‘false information’ about CFL and UVDS. But workers at the facilities have said the concerns are valid. I just went through the list of 40 subpoenas issued by the DOJ and 21 of them are listed as donors to the charity If Given a Chance on their website. Napa County District Attorney, Allison Haley, is President of If Given A Chance. Not all the donors are listed on the website because the charity also got a 10k donation in May 2021 from Napa Special Investigations Bureau that Allison Haley Chairs. (conlfict of interest). The 2022 tax return for If Given a Chance says they took in over $1,000,000.00 in revenue. Compared to the previous year in which they only took in a little over $400,000.00. What’s really outrageous is the charity only donated a little over $100,000.00 to students in 2022. How is that non profit? The Napa County District Attorney’s Office is also listed as a donor to If Given A Chance which is anohter conflict of interest. It looks like judges are ruling in favor of their friends, politicians and pandering to the wine industry, While it seems like the DA is taking gifts and county paid attorney’s are deliberately botching cases. The Hundred Acre Case and the Hoopes Vineyard case are a real good example. In the Hoopes Vineyard case, Judge Smith didn’t disclose for about a year that her husband was on the board of Hundred Acre and issued an Interim Judgement in Hoopes favor. Then after presiding over the case for about a year, she practically lied on the bench, by ommission, when she merely disclosed that her husband worked for a winery upvalley. When in reality he’s on the board of Hundred Acre and they have a pending lawsuit in Napa County that she’s presiding over. Not only that, Hundered Acre shared a mutual attorney with Hoopes Vineyard and they have virtually identical PR campaigns. How did the county attorney’s not know who Judge Smith’s husband is and let her preside on those cases for so long? There should have been a change of venue but, there’s not because they’re still scamming us. They think we’re all stupid and they can do whatever they want to us. Those 2 lawsuits alone have cost the Napa taxpayers millions. Now Allison is supposed to be prosecuting Clover Flat while her charity has received a gift from Christina Pestoni. How can Judge Smith and Allison Haley be allowed to do this? This is business as usual for these people. They wipe their butts with the law. The only way there could be this much corruption in one town is if the Judges and DA are corrupt too. Why is the Napa County Office of Education redistributing tax dollars to a private charity? Why is California Community Foundation taking donor money that’s supposed to be for Los Angeles and donating it to this charity that isn’t even donating the money? Why is SANTA YNEZ BAND OF MISSION INDIANS donating to this charity when their own people need that money? Since when does the Napa County DA’s Office have the right to redistribute tax dollars to charity when it’s supposed to be for victims of crime to get justice? I don’t know what this investigation is about but, the entire Napa justice system needs to be deemed corrupt and shut down by the FBI. RIGHT NOW! Here’s a List of donors from website. I can tell you that I can name no less than 8 corrupt cops in both the NCSO and NPD, not Including the Corrupt Sheriff Oscar Ortiz and his brothers and their ties to Gangs and Organized Crime, I can name in excess of 30 operators, multiple ties to real estate, including over state lines in Oregon, 4 or 5 women that steal PII, Social Engineering, Credential Theft, Initial Access, I can tell you that you left The Meritage resort of the list. No where does it mention the Napa HHS department or Crestwood Behavioral Health, Briefly they mention the county road crews. Just so every one knows this is exactly what it looks like. Strong ties to Norteno Gang Memebers, I suspect Llamas and whatever ties they have with Mexico. This is a RICO and it is massive, yes it involves county officials including numerous in Law Enforcement. Pedroz, Ortiz, Fiona Ma. This is massive and its exactly what it looks like and what your are all thinking. In fact it is about 1 million times worse that it looks. this is the tip of the iceburg. I am super frustrated with the FBI its been 10 months since our meeting on the East Coast I am not happy with them and will be screaming at Allison Haley and CC that to the Special Agents and then leaking it in different channels and dumping it in secure drop and causing a bunch of trouble and I look forward to embarrassing them and talking all about it.

I think you nailed it… I started screaming at her 1.5 years going on 2 years ago.. she has been covering it all up… not to mention she was waging lawfare against me on behalf of Organized Crime, I thought it was just the Corrupt Cops and Gang affiliation in the NCSO, but it just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger. You are right… the FBI should have shut them down last December, and I am furious nothing has happened yet. Ortiz has not been raided… there should be a major federal investigation into the Sheriff and his Deputies but I am not reading about that, and I want to know why. I will be asking why also.

People should know that Napa County Sheriffs Deputies under Oscar Ortiz were involved in a murder conspiracy plot in symphony with Norteno Gang Members to attack a Federal Witness and Destroy Evidence of major fraud and organized crime. These are facts. They are unchecked, they have done this before, they will l do it again. Ortiz and Pedroza… you should all be very concerned. From what I saw first hand, I was convinced it had something to do with TCOs out of Mexico… the scope, size, organization, sophistication, infrastructure all suggest just that… and you can see how deeply the county has been corrupted… This it is so much worse than what is being said in the paper I cannot stress that enough…
