Sure, you could sit in your den clicking through YouTube for videos of Chet Baker playing in 1965, Billie Holiday singing at Columbia Studios or of John Coltrane playing “My Favorite Things” in Europe. But you won’t get the breadth and insight of Mark Cantor’s Jazz Night at the Movies, which kicks off the Healdsburg Jazz Festival this weekend. Cantor has accumulated over 4,000 reels of rare, vintage jazz performances, all on actual 16mm or 32mm film, and he personally introduces each clip selected for his two-hour program. Bring a friend and be amazed when Cantor starts the projectors on Friday, June 4, at the Raven Theater. 115 North St., Healdsburg. 8pm. $10. 707.433.4644.
