Last weekend’s Battle of the Bands at the Napa Valley Opera House showcased the up-and-coming talent of the valley’s teenagers who graduated high school, went off to college, found the number of jobs available to be somewhere around the area of zero and moved back home with mom and dad to start bands in Napa. This week, it’s the grownups turn, with the Bohemian’s own “Green Zone” columnist Juliane Poirier and her Juliane Band headlining a local show called We Live Here. Poirier’s feel-good Americana headlines with African-inspired originals from Ron Sherman, the all-women’s Threshold Choir performing songs composed for hospice care, and the Napa Valley Barbershop Chorus on Friday, Aug. 13, at the Napa Valley Opera House. 1030 Main St., Napa. 8pm. $20. 707.226.7372.
