With over 50 years on the Bay Area music scene, John Allair first led rock ’n’ roll and R&B bands in Marin County starting in the mid-’50s. In the ’80s, Allair went around as a member of Van Morrison’s touring and recording band—and even today, Morrison still calls on Allair, who appeared on Morrison’s 2002 release, Down the Road. As the “piano tuner to the stars” with three self-produced solo CDs, Allair maintains a steady day gig and is kept on speed dial for recording artists like Tom Waits and Neil Young. Watch this keyboard-pounding, blues-yelping, boogie-woogie practitioner go solo on Thursday, July 26, at the Sausalito Seahorse. 305 Harbor Drive, Sausalito. 10pm. $15. 415.331.2899.
