Songwriter Iain Matthews’ wandering spirit has made him an influential artist over decades in a wide array of genres. Matthews first foray into music was as a founding member of English folk band Fairport Convention in the late 1960s; after a few years, Matthews left the band and founded Southern Comfort. This trend continued for decades, as Matthews continuously sought new avenues for making music, mastering genres from jazz to country along the way.
