This week’s Bohemian contains a news item about Santa Rosa’s upcoming city council vote on smoke shops, tattoo parlors and nightclubs downtown. A recently-released staff report recommends banning tattoo parlors and smoke shops from downtown and strengthening restrictions on all-ages clubs while relaxing restrictions on clubs that serve alcohol. The planning commission, while supporting the nightclub zoning amendments, has already recommended against the tattoo and smoke shop ban; you can voice your opinion at the council meeting on Tuesday, March 17, at the Santa Rosa City Council Chambers in City Hall. 5pm. Those wishing to speak should get there early to fill out a speaker’s card.
