DELVE DEEPER in the history and culture of Tibet in four workshops at the Sonoma Museum of Visual Art. History and Culture of Tibet Lama Segyu Choepal Rinpoche (an adviser to the Dalai Lama himself) looks at the Buddhist movement in Tibet (Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2 to 3:30 p.m.). $5. Introduction to Buddhism Damcho Sangmo and Maria Hess address Buddhist basics (Monday, Dec. 28, 3 to 4:30 p.m.). $5. The Mandala and Its Function Rinpoche covers the general meaning of the beautiful sand paintings in Buddhist thought (Thursday, Jan. 7, 6 to 7:30 p.m.). $5. Amitayus Empowerment Rinpoche explains the focus of the mandala as it is being created (Saturday, Jan. 9, at 7 p.m.). $15. The museum is located at LBC, 50 Mark West Springs Road, Santa Rosa.
