History and Culture of Tibet Lama Segyu Choepal Rinpoche (an adviser to the Dalai Lama himself) looks at the Buddhist movement in Tibet (Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2 to 3:30 p.m.). $5.

Introduction to Buddhism Damcho Sangmo and Maria Hess address Buddhist basics (Monday, Dec. 28, 3 to 4:30 p.m.). $5.

The Mandala and Its Function Rinpoche covers the general meaning of the beautiful sand paintings in Buddhist thought (Thursday, Jan. 7, 6 to 7:30 p.m.). $5.

Amitayus Empowerment Rinpoche explains the focus of the mandala as it is being created (Saturday, Jan. 9, at 7 p.m.). $15.
