Lights on the Water

[whitespace] Holiday Lighted Boat Parade

WHAT IF YOU SET OUT to design the perfect holiday event? You'd probably want beautiful lights, a bit of music, and, of course, Santa Claus. But don't waste the effort, because the folks at the Petaluma Yacht Club are way ahead of you. The club's Holiday Lighted Boat Parade first visited Petaluma Harbor 18 years ago, and it returns to dazzle us this year on Saturday, Dec. 12. The fleet includes 25 decorated boats, musical entertainment from the Pacific Empire Chorus and bagpiper Seamus Raudenbush, and even an appearance by the merry old elf himself. The boats drop anchor at 6:30 p.m. at the Petaluma River Turning Basin, behind the Great Petaluma Mill, 6 Petaluma Blvd. For more information, call 765-6750.
