Eric Logan IN THE OLD DAYS, before the latest crop of precocious swing kids swept onto the dance floor, GAP commercials, and just about every place a high-kickin' jive talkin' hep cat can go, Little Charlie & the Night Cats carved a nice little niche for themselves with somethin' called West Coast-style jump blues. But blues ain't cool, swing's the thing. So Little Charlie and company are now in vogue as one of the hippest combos to strut on stage in many a day, since their highly contagious jump blues, er, swing or whatever you want to call it has struck a chord with the retro crowd. Catch them in the act on New Year's Eve at the Mystic Theater, 21 N. Petaluma Blvd., Petaluma. Yeah, you get party hats and all that stuff. Tickets are $20. Norton Buffalo co-headlines the bill.
